OBAMA! YES!!!!!!!
After much turmoil we have now moved our distro through Lumberjack Mordam ….(Thanks to my pal Chris from Insubordination Records!!) The Guts – “Let It Go” came out on Oct 21, 2008. The band is currently finishing up a European tour with their new drummer and a second guitarist. We look forward to some stateside dates in the near future, so please check here or their Myspace for tour dates…this is a kick ass live band committed to bringing the rock so it’s imperative you see a show! Also, you should check out their spread in the latest edition of AMP Magazine!!
Moving along, we are currently re-packaging the Jetty Botys S/T record for distro thru Lumberjack. This will have new artwork, include lyrics and also be pressed on 12” vinyl. As I type, the Jetty’s are in Milwaukee with Justin Perkins (The Rally Hit Maker!!) tracking drums for their second Rally release. Eric Mahnke (Bass) sent me a note – the tracking is sounding tight and the songs they have lined up are good enough that he”s blown away by them – Eric is one of the best bass players I’ve ever seen and his ear for picking great songs is impeccable – so believe you me….I’M STOKED!!!!!!
Speaking of Justin Perkins – He’s backing my pal Ben Weasel this week in Chicago for a set of shows. Justin will be playing bass and Drew from the Jetty’s will be on second guitar… while the sexiest man from Scotland ever – Simon Lamb (formerly of the punktastic, Ritalins) will be bringing the licks. Jon from Limebeck will be pounding the skins – Jon is like pure love and the best guy you could ever want to have a drunken Chicago dog with – if you are in the area – GO TO THESE SHOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also – I got word from Pete Shuttlecock – who has now relocated to Erie, PA – that they have a new bass player and will be playing with “A Wilhelm Scream” in the next few weeks in Erie….I don’t have the date yet, but if you’re in Erie (sorry that must suck) you might want to check them out. The band also just held court with the Teenage Bottlerockets in Pittsburgh and are looking to get on deck for INSUB FEST 2009. Fingers Crossed!
Next, Project 27″s Smarten Up! release is coming Jan. 2009. Sorry for the delay – we wanted to make sure we had a distro that understood our release and would help us spread the message on this great band and record. Please be on the look out for P27 in the next month or so as we ramp up to get this release to the ears that WANT to hear it!
Be sure to also check out The Riptides – “Mental Therapy” EP. I have a some of the 7” left so if you need one let me know! Also, they have a song “Return from Blood Beach” from this EP that has been picked up by the xbox video game “Skate 2″. KICK ASS!
Finally – Big shout out my pals Matt Lame (Mega Rad Dude) and Carla Monoxide ( So Amesome) for their pending Insub ” Sucidie” release!!!!!!!!!!
